If you have a child that will be attending Kindergarten at Joseph Rogers Primary School, please make plans to attend our kindergarten registration day.
It will be on Friday, May 3rd from 1:00-3:30.

Due to the threat of potential high wind and thunderstorms, the Second Harvest Food Distribution scheduled for today has been moved to next Thursday April 18. The distributions will be scheduled for the same times at Cherokee and Volunteer High School. There is no need to reregister. Spring Picture Day will be April 3rd. Only those who prepay will have their pictures taken.


If you haven't had the opportunity to pick up your child's spring fundraiser items, you can come and pick them up anytime today. We will be at school until 6:15 pm for teacher in-service. When you arrive, please come to the office and someone will get your items for you.

Hawkins County School District is excited to offer Summer Learning Camps again this summer for our students who will be Rising 1st-9th graders. Summer Learning Camp will take place for four weeks, four days a week, between May 28 - June 20 from 7:30 - 2:30 p.m. This camp is part of the Tennessee Learning Loss Remediation and Student Acceleration Act (SB7002/HB7004) and will focus on rising 1st-grade students through rising 9th-grade students. Priority students identified by T.C.A. 49-6-3115 will be prioritized for enrollment in Summer Camps. Parents will be notified of acceptance before the start of summer camp. Transportation will be made available daily. Breakfast and lunch will be served as part of the program


Hawkins County Schools will release all schools early on Monday, April 8. Please be aware that buses will begin to take students home at 12:30 pm due to the shortened schedule.

Spring fundraiser items will be available for pick-up tomorrow, Wednesday, March 13th at JRP between the hours of 10:00-2:00 at the cafeteria entrance. There will be signs directing you to that door. If you cannot get your items at that time, we will also be available to give out items anytime between 8:30-2:00 on Thursday. If you have any questions, please reach out to the office at 272-9110, tomorrow morning.

HCS Voluntary Pre-K Enrollment 24-25 for Bulls Gap School, Joseph Rogers Primary, and Mt. Carmel Elem.
Online Applications will open on March 25, 2024
Voluntary Pre-K offers educational, social, and emotional development opportunities for students in Hawkins County. Students completing VPK are better prepared for the success throughout their school career.
Voluntary Pre-K is available to children whose birthdays fall between August 16, 2019 and August 15, 2020. Spaces are limited and income qualifications apply. Additional inclusive early childhood opportunities are available for preschoolers who do not meet the income requirements. The Office of Early Childhood will begin processing applications request on March 25, 2024 at www.hck12.net.

In honor of Aleita Gladson's memory and her dedication to the transportation of students, there will be a memorial bus procession on Friday March 1st.
Buses from many surrounding county and city school systems will meet at Cherokee High School at 10:00 AM. Once Buses are organized, the procession will proceed from Cherokee High School, through Rogersville, and travel on highway 11W to Volunteer High School. We encourage the community to stand along the route and pay tribute to this amazing individual.

We will have a Remote Learning Day on March 5th. Students will NOT log into zoom or any virtual platforms.
We will send home packets for students to complete. The packet will be a review of skills already taught at school. Packets have to be returned on Wednesday, March 6th.
