District Announcement: Hawkins County Schools will continue to be closed on Thursday, February 5 and Friday, February 6, due to unsafe secondary roads. Although the recent rain and warming temperatures have helped improve some of the road conditions, 80-85% of our secondary routes remain unsafe for bus travel. Due to warming temperatures and sunshine forecast over the weekend and into next week, we aim to open schools and run buses on clear routes beginning Monday. If this plan changes, we will send and post updates. Please refer to the HCS Bus Changes page: https://www.hck12.net/o/hcsd/page/buses for updates to our roads and affected routes.

In honor of School Counselor Week, we want to recognize Kim Harville, who goes above and beyond for our school community. She takes a proactive role in addressing chronic absenteeism, working closely with students and families to ensure every child has the support they need to be present and successful. Kim also teaches essential social-emotional and life skills to our youngest learners, including sharing and taking turns, identifying and managing emotions, problem-solving, self-regulation, and building positive friendships—skills that lay the foundation for lifelong success. No matter the situation, Kim is always on the other end of the walkie, ready to respond with kindness, guidance, and a calm presence. JRP is truly blessed to have her, and her dedication, compassion, and tireless support make our school a better, more caring place for students, staff, and families alike.

Hawkins County Schools will be closed Tuesday, February 3 and Wednesday, February 4 due to road conditions throughout the county.

💙 Appreciation for Our JRP Related Arts Team 💙

The JRP Related Arts team consistently demonstrates strong collaboration and unity during their weekly PLCs. They work diligently as part of the Attendance Team, approaching each task with care, commitment, and a true focus on students. The team also builds and maintains positive relationships with our students every day.

Most recently, they stepped in without hesitation to cover bus duty for a colleague during an unexpected situation. Their teamwork, reliability, and student-centered mindset truly set them apart, and we are grateful for all they do for Joseph Rogers Primary School.

District Announcement: Walter's State Community College TAG Program cancelled for Saturday, January 31, 2026.

District Announcement: Due to the Winter Storm Warning and predicted heavy snowfall, Hawkins County Schools will be CLOSED tomorrow, Friday, January 30.

Order forms are going home today for class pictures. These pictures will be on February 4th. 2nd grade and pre-k graduation pictures will also be on February 4th.

Hawkins County Schools will operate on a 2-hour delay on Thursday, January 29, 2026. Buses will operate on clear roads only. Bus route information can be found at this link: www.hck12.net/o/hcsd/page/buses

Hawkins County Schools will close tomorrow, Tuesday, January 27, due to road conditions and freezing temperatures.
